I picked this song as an opener for three reasons, one the obvious "get up and go" sound of the way it starts, I wanted people to right off understand this was a completely new sound from my previous records. Two, by talking about needing darkness and light I was reaching out to people who were also spiritually -confused. And three, other than the title track, "Guided without Direction" was not only the first song I wrote for this album, but also basis for the sound that I was going to have throughout the record.
